096 - A Mom Moment, a Flight to Japan, and the Space to Become

In this episode, I’m sharing from a very tender mom place as Matthew leaves for Japan to study abroad for a month.

His trip has brought up memories of when he was two years old and I wondered if he might be delayed in his speech. What I eventually realized was that the words were always there. He just needed the space to use them.

That reflection has me thinking about all the ways we may assume someone is behind, when maybe they simply haven’t had the right room, quiet, safety, or space to become.

I also share a small glimpse into the different ways Cliff and I experience this season of adult children coming and going from our home, and how much I cherish the moments when they still choose to come back.

This episode is about motherhood, becoming, finding your voice, and honoring the pace at which each of us grows.

Until next time, live your life on purpose.
